It was the vice. With Haaland missing, the Triple Captain chip slid onto Bruno Fernandes's shoulder and printed 42 points. Without that single piece of vice-captain foresight, FC United score 45 and lose the league. Picking the right vice has never mattered more.
A 27-point thumping in the final completes The Double. The road there: past Razguzitelj 70–57 in the quarter, past AC Milan 69–55 in the semi (the same AC Milan that had just demolished cup-leader Vječno Drugi 103–75), and a final stroll past Balen. Fourth Persu Cup. Tenth trophy overall. The trophy cabinet needs an extension.
The team is literally called "Eternally Second" — and on the one day that mattered, life imitated the team name. Led the league for most of the season, captained Bruno Fernandes for 28 points, scored a respectable 60 on the day — and got caught by 8. The cruellest twist: the same Bruno gave FC United 42 points off the same fixture, via the triple-captain auto-transfer. Same player. Same goal. One armband worth 14 more points than the other. Forever, painfully, drugi.
Marijan rolled the Bench Boost on the final day. The bench delivered… zero. Two title-race chips lit on fire in the same weekend — and the only one that mattered was up top in red.
